Autumn Swirls

Happy Friday!! I can't believe I have a whole weekend off!! I plan on enjoying it as I'm sure I wont get another weekend off now for a while!

So today I have a manicure I did at the beginning of the week which has now long gone, unfortunately. But for some reason this was one of those mani's that I just could not get to go right! I must have taken it off and re-did my mani about 15,0000 times (ok, that's an exaggeration but you get the idea!)

I knew what colours I wanted to do and how I wanted my mani to look but it ended up being an epic failure!! So then I changed my mind and played about another 16,000 times (again, not really but it felt like it!) until I decided that I would give stamping another go since I rarely do it.

So, I started off painting my nails using Nails Inc. Richmond Terrace which is just this lush plum shade and perfect for the Autumn. I won this last year in a giveaway and was looking forward to pulling it out this year!

I originally wanted to do a french mani with a reverse mani accent nail but it just wasn't working for me as you can see from the epic fail photo above! The gold I used is Barry M Limited Edition 2012 in Christmas Gold. I knew the colours would look fab together. Or so I thought.....

I looked through ALL my stamping plates carefully to find the right pattern I wanted. I also wanted to do a matte mani, since I have a matte topcoat. After finding this really pretty swirly pattern from my Konad M63 plate I made my final attempt at a mani and I really LOVE how this turned out.

The gold isn't as sparkly in the photos which is a bit of a downer because it looked so pretty in person! I got a few compliments from some of the mums I was talking to at a birthday party my little munchkin was at, (which is always nice) this mani lasted a good 4 days. My nails look super dry in these photos from using far too much nail polish remover!

Well, I shall leave it at that before I waffle on like a mad woman.
Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Mug Inspired Dotticure

Well hello fellow nail addicts!!

The weekend is almost here and I hope you've all had a fab week!! Today's post is a manicure I was supposed to share with you last week but work was crazy so it slipped my mind, oops!! I really need to start making a blog to do list so I don't forget anything!!

I was struggling to come up with an idea for a manicure last week and I found myself staring at my spotty mug and since I find dotticures an easy go to mani for when I'm out of ideas I knew that it was the perfect inspiration for a manicure.

After I rounded up all the polishes I wanted to use for this mani I went ahead and painted my base colours. I used Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Make My Day and Models Own in Snow White. I used 2 coats of each polish.

Then after my base colours had dried completely I got out my dotting tool and went ahead and randomly placed my pink, green, blue and red dots over the white polish. For my dots I used Models Own in Jade Stone, Pastel Pink, Bloo Bloo and Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Make My Day. I then popped my Seche Vite Top coat over my manicure to seal it all in and my dots smudged a wee bit.

Overall though I'm still pleased with how this turned out and I really liked having this on my nails. So there you have it my lovelies, another Imperfect Manicure.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Elegant Nail Art

Hiya fellow nail addicts!

Hope you're all having a fab start to the week. So over the weekend I was flicking through some of my fave reads and stopped at the lovely Danielle's blog Totally Nailed. If you haven't seen this blog I suggest you do and sharpish because this woman is seriously talented and amazing! Love Her!!

Anyway, I was having a right old mooch at her nail art and one simple yet gorgeous design and colour combo caught my eye. I knew straight away that I had to do something like that. Now, I've been having serious withdrawals from Danielle's nail art especially since she's on maternity leave so I thought what better way to curb my cravings! Lol.

Ok, so trying to capture my holo polish was an impossible task and I tried everything and it's such a shame because this mani looks so much prettier in person. You can see Danielle's Mani here.

Unfortunately I had a shaky hand so my stripes are a wee bit wonky but overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I didn't do the best job at clean up either I didn't realise how much I missed! Oops! I also added 2 of these cute little pink bows I bought from eBay a while back.

What do you think of my take on Danielle's mani??

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

NOTD : Tropical Gradient

Good Evening my fellow nail addicts!!

Just a quick post today to show you my NOTD. I painted these on Wednesday and they look so worn now and unfortunately when you see my pics my fingers are stained and my mani doesn't look great but if you see it in person, it's actually really neat and tidy!

After my fun and cute yellow mani last week I still don't feel ready to let go of the summery polishes yet. I wanted to do a gradient and I was feeling tropical and wanted to do some stamping.  I used Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Inspire for my base colour and then sponged it on with another Avon Nailwear Pro+ polish in Orange Creamsicle.

I used my Konad Stamping Plate M29 for the images and Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Licorice to stamp on the images. I love how this mani turned out and I'm even more pleased at the fact that my stamping turned out good too!!! Go me!! I didn't want to go overboard with the images so kept it minimal with the hibiscus flower and palm trees. It's so beachy and makes me want to go on holiday.

The girls in work loved this too and have asked if I will do some manicures on them which, of course made me smile. I feel like I'm getting somewhere with my manicures now and I'm getting a bit more nailspiration.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Nails Inc Concrete Effect | Monument & Smiley Faces

Hello fellow nail addicts!!

Happy Friday!! Yay, the weekend is finally here and I hope you've all got a fab one planned. So today I have a post that I was supposed to put up last week but I kinda forgot about it until a couple of days so I'm sharing it today.

I'm not ready to give up my bright polishes just yet even though I love the fact that Autumn is on the way. So last year I won this really pretty Nails Inc polish called Monument (you can see my post here) and since then if I'm honest, I had totally forgot about it.

Whilst looking for a polish to wear I came across it again and had to put it on. I've used 2 coats and forgot just how much I like the textured polishes.

Then after a couple of days, I wasn't quite ready to take it off and decided to recycle it. The first thing that popped into my head was smiley faces and so I went with it and it came out so fun and cute!!!

The girls in work loved these and giggled when they saw them. They certainly brightened up my week! I love the texture with them too. I can't help but smile every time I see them. As you can tell my middle nail is still growing. It broke REALLY badly.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.
